The HUMMER EV - the world's first all-electric super truck - has awesome  capabilities, all in a zero emissions package.  This four-and-a-half ton, 9,000 pound and change vehicle is a heavyweight fighter in the "light truck" class.  With specs like:

•  1,000 horsepower

• 11,500 lb.-ft. of torque

• A blistering 0-60 mph time of 3 seconds

• Standard automated emergency braking

• Standard pedestrian detection

• Standard adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode

• Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist.

4 Wheel Steer

Offering nimble maneuverability. The system allows the rear wheels to be locked in the forward position, to turn opposite of the front wheels or turn in the same direction as the front wheels.

Crabwalk Mode

When the driver activates Crab Walk mode, the Hummer will turn all four wheels up to 10 degrees in the same direction. That means you can effectively drive sideways to avoid an obstacle rather than trying a multipoint turn that might not work anyway.

Adaptive Air Suspension

which enables the suspension height to be controlled by the driver or via automatic settings to suit a variety of conditions. Examples include:

• Ride height control with automatic or driver-selectable settings
  

        Automatic Entry and Exit, which lowers the ride height to enable easier entry

• Aero Mode, which lowers the ride height on the highway to improve aerodynamics
  
• Extract Mode1, enables the suspension height to be raised approximately 6 inches, in order to help the HUMMER EV negotiate extreme off-road situations such as clearing boulders and fording deeper water.
  

Visibility and Off-Road Data

Edition 1 models come with a camera system called UltraVision that provides up to 18 different camera views to help drivers see off-road obstacles. It even includes forward- and rear-facing underbody camera views to help drivers avoid testing the underbody protection too vigorously. The underbody cameras also have a washing system to remove mud and debris and replaceable lens protectors in case the camera goes in for too much of a close-up on an obstacle.

As part of the Hummer EV’s development, GMC partnered with video game maker Epic Games and uses Epic’s Unreal Engine to display real-time, 3D graphics to keep drivers informed when off-road. The off-road “widgets” in the Hummer EV display things like torque output and vectoring, pitch and roll, locker engagement and a whole lot more. 

The HUMMER EV shatters expectations of what an electric vehicle can do.

Minimum total donations required to award the prize.  If the minimum is not met, we will split the net proceeds (amount donated minus campaign expenses) on a 50/50 basis with the winner.
